Urge KFC to end cruel slaughter, use CAK

Urge KFC to follow the lead of McDonald's and Denny's by utilizing the more humane Controlled Atmosphere Killing for chickens.
Dear David Novak:

It has come to my attention that such well known dining establishments as McDonald's and Denny's have begun utilizing more humane methods, such as Controlled Atmosphere Killing, for the slaughter of their chickens. If you are not familiar with CAK, it is a process where chickens are put into a controlled environment in which their oxygen is slowly replaced with argon or nitrogen, putting the birds to sleep quickly and painlessly. It is considerably more humane than the current method employed by your current poultry distributor in which chickens are hung upside-down with their legs snapped into metal shackles, which often breaks their bones. Many are still fully conscious when their throats are slit and when they are immersed in scalding-hot water for feather removal.

It is only a small step toward bettering the lives of chickens. I, and those who support my opinions, in no way want to shut down your corporation or hurt your business. We are simply looking out for the welfare of animals, even those used for food. Every living creature deserves the best life possible. CAK would be a crucial component to the improved conditions for factory farmed poultry. Please, seriously consider these statements and signatures, and choose what is best for the lives of everyone.
