Pennsylvania: Tell GenOn to Clean Up Its Act!

Because of companies like GenOn, Pennsylvanians breathe some of the dirtiest air in the nation. According to the American Lung Association, 85% of Pennsylvanians live in areas that received failing grades for air quality. These unhealthy air conditions cause high asthma rates and wide spread respiratory problems.

GenOn's generating stations in Elrama, Portland and Reading, lack the necessary pollution prevention controls to keep our air clean. Because of this the EPA recently required GenOn to drastically clean up the Portland generating station. GenOn now has six months to make a decision to clean up the plant, or shut it down.

Send a message to GenOn CEO Ed Muller urging him to transition GenOn's dirty coal fired power plants to clean, job creating energy sources like solar and wind.
Subject: I Demand Clean Air! Retire Dirty Coal!

Dear GenOn CEO Ed Muller,

I am writing as a concerned Pennsylvanian about your coal fired power plants in Reading, Portland, and Elrama, Pennsylvania. Each year these plants pour tons of smog, soot, and greenhouse gasses into the air, leading to illnesses like asthma and heart disease and contributing to climate change.

I urge you to transition these plants over to clean energy sources like wind and solar to improve public health and stop runaway climate change.
