Don't Let Ag-gag Bills Silence You

In recent years, whistleblowing employees and undercover investigations have repeatedly exposed animal abuse, food safety threats, unsafe working conditions, and environmental problems at factory farms.

But rather than clean up their act, agribusiness has been busy pushing "anti-whistleblower" bills in state legislatures around the country.

While these "ag-gag" bills can take many forms, their goal is always the same: stop investigators, and the public, from learning about the inhumane and hazardous practices that the industry considers business as usual. These attempts to criminalize whistleblowing put animal welfare — and the wellbeing of people and communities — in jeopardy.

Let our leaders know that you believe "ag-gag" bills are unacceptable by adding your name to this action.

Without the ability to document and report on violations at industrial agriculture operations, we would not have been able to uncover the mismanagement of rampant disease found at Iron Maiden Hog Farm in Kentucky, the abuse of animals by workers at Wyoming Premium Farms, which lead to criminal charges, or the inclusion of downer cattle in our nation's school food supply, resulting in the largest beef recall in U.S. history.

Join The Humane Society of the United States and animal lovers nationwide in speaking out against dangerous "ag-gag" bills. By doing so, you will signal to our government that you stand against "ag-gag" bills on behalf of animals.
