One of Indonesia company which have business in cement, PT Semen Baturaja (Persero)
Tbk, which is listing at Indonesia Stock Exchange, now is preparing Bukit Bulan karst region
for the mine site and cement plant. It’s so dangerous. !!!

The local district government (regent), simply giving permission to the mining exploration of
the business, and today they continue to be a conspiracy to increase permit license stage of
production operations. Conspiracy of destruction this karst region will be accelerated if the
EIA approval documents approved by the local district government.

Obviously, they violate and ignored the Indonesian government Regulation No. 26 of 2008
on the national spatial plan, especially Article 50 and Article 53 of the protected area
geology, and ESDM number 17 of 2012 on the establishment of karst landscape area, and
thay still will give Bukit Bulan karst region as raw materials of cement industry.

Why we have to protect karst Bukit Bulan region :
1. The river from cave / underground river, is the upper Batanghari river, which main
river for million people of Jambi province and source of fresh water, billion river fish
and so many bio ecosystem.

UNESCO. This data is from Geology agency of Indonesia.
4. Local people need the origin of karst area to watering the paddy field, take swallow
nest from the cave, fresh air, and live between nature.
5. This area is between conservation rain forest and protected, the cement industry
surely will destroy the area and surrounding area.
6. This area has many cave and the longest cave along 1,5 km which is connecting
Dalam village and Duri village
7. Karst Bukit Bulan and geopark with an estimated age of 300 million years will be the
