Tell Lawmakers to Support Climate Protection

Earlier this month, Pennsylvania's senators continued their long-standing tradition of protecting the fossil fuel industry while ignoring the health of our families and climate.

A new bill, S.B. 1195, recently passed through committee and is about to be brought to the floor for a vote. S.B. 1195 attempts to derail state action to implement the Clean Power Plan — the federal initiative to cut carbon pollution from power plants. It is a cynical attack on public health that serves the interest of fossil fuel at the expense of everyday Pennsylvanians.

Do you want to curb pollution, improve public health, reduce electricity bills, and develop more clean energy jobs? If so, please ask your state senator to vote against S.B. 1195.
Dear Senator,

As a climate champion who's committed to clean energy growth, you must stand up to polluters by voting against S.B. 1195. This bill obstructs the important work of creating a customized Pennsylvania Clean Power Plan, and threatens our state's ability to cut carbon pollution, spur clean energy growth, create clean energy jobs, and assist our coal communities.

82% of Pennsylvanians have endorsed a state-crafted plan to curb carbon pollution, while even higher percentages want more investment in energy efficiency and zero-emitting renewable energy. Pennsylvanians clearly want their leaders to develop a plan that transitions away from dirty energy sources and focuses on efficiency and non-fossil renewables.

Thank you for standing up to climate change and protecting our public health. Pennsylvanians care about S.B. 1195 and will remember how you vote on it.

Sincerely,
