Climate change drastically affects our planet; its affects can be seen in a variety of manifestations, including depletion of natural biological diversity, rapidly rising sea levels, and formation of massive natural events which devastate our own population. Climate change has been empirically linked to be primarily caused by carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil-fuels. However, the economic contribution from these sources constitutes the majority of income for the United States, and life as we know it would no longer be possible if we cease to produce energy at the rate we are now. Thus, a market-based approach to phasing out carbon fuels will lead to an economic growth for clean and renewable energy, which will allow a smoother transition for those with jobs in the energy sector as well as implementing more legislation safe-guarding our future.
