Oppose Palin's Cozy Relationship With Big Oil

Since taking office in January 2007, Governor Sarah Palin has shown over and over that she has very little regard for protecting the environment in Alaska.

No one is closer to the oil industry than Governor Palin. Under her leadership, Alaska is suing the federal government for considering listing the Polar Bear as a threatened species even though global warming threatens its very existence. The lawsuit claims that saving the Polar Bear would cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Beaufort and Chukchi Sea, home to some of the only habitat for the bears in the United States.

Palin has also been an adamant supporter of drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. To quote Palin, "When I look every day, the big oil company's building is right out there next to me, and it's quite a reminder that we should have mutually beneficial relationships with the oil industry." Over and over, Governor Palin's record shows that she's in the pocket of Big Oil, and that she has demonstrated little interest in protecting iconic wildlife such as the threatened Polar Bear and wild places like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Please sign on to say that you oppose Sarah Palin's cozy relationship with Big Oil and the policies on energy and wildlife that she as advocated as Governor of Alaska. Tell Governor Palin to stop the lawsuit filed by Alaska against the Department of the Interior that challenges the ruling that Polar Bears should listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
