Stand Up for the Volunteers Who Protect Our National Parks

With the government shut down, thousands of students are being denied the opportunity to volunteer in national parks.

This is the time of year that national parks rely on volunteers from the Student Conservation Association to restore the parks after a busy summer season and prepare the parks for the winter. SCA students are the hands-on caretakers of our nation's most inspirational assets.

But with the closure of our national parks, young people are denied the opportunity to serve their country. These future environmental educators, biologists, park rangers, land stewards, and conservation leaders are experiencing a break in their AmeriCorps service that will impact their scholarship money, internship credit for college, and more.

Protecting our parks has always been a joint effort between private citizens and the government. Show your support for the student volunteers committed to preserving the places we love.
