Canada: End Cosmetics Animal Testing

Did you know that in Canada and many parts of the world, animals in laboratories are still suffering and dying to test cosmetics such as lip stick and shampoo? They have chemicals forced down their throats and dripped into their eyes and on to their shaved skin. It's the ugly secret of the beauty industry that Humane Society International/Canada is determined to end.

Producing cosmetics without animal suffering is simple, so there is no excuse for companies not making cosmetics the cruelty-free way. All they need to do is use combinations of the thousands of existing cosmetic chemicals already established as safe, together with available non-animal test methods.

HSI's [global] Be Cruelty-Free campaign aims to create the political will and consumer pressure needed to ban cosmetics animal testing wherever it takes place in the world. We want to turn Canada and the whole world cruelty-free -- a world where no animal has to suffer for the sake of cosmetics. Add your name to support a Canadian ban on animal testing for cosmetics.
Animals shouldn't suffer and die to test cosmetics or their ingredients. All cosmetics should be cruelty-free, and I support a national ban in Canada on animal testing for cosmetics and on the sale of new cosmetics that have been tested on animals.
