Tell President Obama: We Don't Need a Keystone XL Oil Spill

On September 29, 2014 a wheat farmer in North Dakota discovered 865,200 gallons of fracked crude oil gushing into his field from a ruptured oil pipeline. This all-too-familiar scenario is yet another example of the environmental and economic dangers posed by crude oil pipelines.

After years of facing one giant oil spill after another, one thing is clear: The last thing we need is a Keystone XL oil spill in America's heartland.

Enough is enough -- tell President Obama that only he can prevent a future Keystone XL oil spill.
Dear President Obama,

On September 29, a wheat farmer in North Dakota discovered 865,200 gallons of fracked Bakken crude gushing into his field from a ruptured oil pipeline. This all-too-familiar scenario is just the latest example of the environmental and economic dangers posed by crude oil pipelines.

The last thing that would be in America's national interest is the Keystone XL pipeline gushing its toxic tar sands right in the middle of the heartland. The EPA has warned of the significant carbon pollution that would come from Keystone XL. The Department of Interior has warned of the serious impacts Keystone XL would have on wildlife. I urge you to look at the recent spills in Arkansas, the Yellowstone River, the Kalamazoo River and now North Dakota as warnings of what will inevitably happen again if you approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

I support your climate agenda that caps carbon pollution from power plants and boosts renewable energy. Now I'm looking to you to make good on that promise by rejecting Keystone XL.

Sincerely,
[Your name]
