Thank Colorado's Governor for a Successful Water Plan!

Colorado's recently released water plan is the result of the largest civic engagement process in our state's history. It means a statewide conservation goal and projects for river assessments and restoration, all leading to a brighter future for the waterways that define our Colorado heritage.

Colorado's population is skyrocketing, which means water sources will be stretched thin: according to the State's projections, Colorado faces a shortfall of about 182 billion gallons a year by 2050. With the input of Colorodans, Governor Hickenlooper and the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) released a plan outlining water conservation guidelines to ensure Colorado's access to water.

The plan is only the first step. Now we must focus on implementation and enforcement of these regulations. Protecting our waterways now ensures that future generations will enjoy healthy, flowing rivers.

Thank Governor Hickenlooper and the Colorado Water Conservation Board for releasing a comprehensive water plan, and urge them to protect Colorado's water today!
