The State of Utah has set aside $14 million to sue the federal government for a pointless transfer of federal public lands to the state of Utah. According to legal experts, the lawsuit is a lost cause – and a waste of taxpayer dollars. That money would be better spent on health care and education – things the legislature has neglected in the budget.

This proposal is not just a waste of money: it's really a giveaway for special interests. If Utah succeeded, they would be forced to sell off some of the public lands to wealth interests like Big Oil companies.
