Tell The World's Leaders: I Need Nature!

Leaders from around the world are gathering at the United Nations climate talks in Paris to confront climate change — one of the greatest threats facing humanity today.

The protection and restoration of nature is essential to addressing the causes and impacts of climate change — yet it’s often overlooked. The protection of tropical forests and other critical ecosystems, can provide 30% of the climate solution by preventing additional greenhouse gasses from being released into the atmosphere. These same ecosystems can also help provide a buffer from the harmful impacts of climate change.

We must protect nature so that nature can protect us.

Sign the petition today and join Conservation International and thousands of others in sending a message to the climate negotiators: Protecting nature is a powerful defense against climate change.
U.N. Climate Negotiators:

Climate change is much more than an environmental issue — it is the greatest threat facing humanity today.

And although climate change is a complex, global problem that requires a collective response, you must lead the way by taking bold action and securing a new global climate agreement that is equitable, inclusive, and effective.

Although confronting climate change will require actions in various sectors such as energy and transportation, nature-based solutions are some of the most economical, sustainable and effective means available for addressing the climate challenge — yet they’re often overlooked.

I urge you to take climate action and ensure that nature is recognized and funded as part of the solution.
