Empower Women and Girls in the Fight Against HIV

Since the AIDS epidemic began, hard work, scientific research, education and outreach around the world has begun to reverse the spread.

Still, right now over 40 million people are infected with HIV worldwide; 2 million are children.

Cruelly, even though the virus itself can't tell the difference between someone who is rich or poor, around the world we see that HIV appears most often in disadvantaged communities. The risk is especially acute for girls and young women, who have more trouble accessing education, and can lack the power in their relationships, both huge risk factors for HIV.

Empowering girls helps them to avoid HIV infection - and Plan Canada is working to do just that. Join the movement today! Stand with girls around the world to defend their right to education, health services, and the self determination they need and deserve.
