Stand with Indigenous Peoples to draw a line in the sand!

Canada's tar sands are the largest industrial project on Earth and our biggest source of carbon emissions. They are also the homeland of Beaver Lake Cree Nation. With more than 19,000 fossil fuel permits issued to date,  these projects threaten to destroy the Beaver Lake Cree Nation's way of life —by polluting and fragmenting the land and waters that have sustained Indigenous Peoples for millennia.

Now, this small northern Alberta Nation is going to court to defend its rights to hunt, fish and practice culture as guaranteed under Treaty 6. Beaver Lake Cree Nation is challenging the cumulative impacts of industrial development. A victory for Beaver Lake Cree Nation would become a strong precedent for other treaty Nations — and all Canadians — to allow for protection of land, air and water for future generations, and substantially reframe the way industrial development is undertaken by putting Indigenous rights first.

Pledge your support! Let Beaver Lake Cree Nation know you will stand with them  to push back against one of the largest and most carbon-intensive energy developments on the planet.
