Remington Acres Equine Services originally leased the property in the Addicks Reservoir from the Corps of Engineers on January 1st, 2007. We were prepared to deal with difficulties unique to the site, like occasional flooding and yard work. We accepted those small obstacles in exchange for the opportunity to provide a safe haven for our horses and other forgotten animals. Because of the recent unexpected flooding, the Corps of Engineers is now considering the cancellation and non-renewal of our lease. This decision would be detrimental to our community and our purpose. We would like to keep the land and continue to lease the property.

We the undersigned have pettitioned to keep and renew our lease in the Addicks Resevior to continue on with our purpose of administering therapy, healing, safety and love. We value your thoughts and consideration of not resuming the lease due to the dangers of flooding; however we knew the risk and sucessfully managed to escape harms way and continue on with our duty of love. Addicks has grown to be called home for the vounteers and animals it caters.
We stongly but humbly ask for the reconsideration of allowing Remington Acres to resume and renew our lease. With high hopes and expectations we send much appreciated thanks and kind regards.
