Don't hurt the innocent

We, the undersigned, demand that a new law be created, nullifying outdated and barbaric laws to the contrary, that no animal can be harmed by a person for any reason other than to help the animal or for self defence.

The same penalties that apply for harming a human must be enforced against people who harm any other being who understands emotional or physical pain.
