Say no to the 2009 Health Care Bill - Fight HealthCare Madness!

Fight HealthCare Madness is a one-woman crusade to educate the public on the real state of health care in the U.S., and to let Congress know that there are people that will not stand by and let them overhaul our health care system with the bill currently making it's way in Congress.  The health system has serious issues, but none that are addressed in this bill.

Speaking from experience, President Obama's "Cleveland Clinic model" is not what is in the best interest for the country.  The bill in its current form guarantees nothing more than health care coverage for all, with the details to be worked out later.  This means that once it is passed the new health care chairman and committees will have complete control over the budget, guidelines, spending, taxing and benefits.  Health care is our largest gross domestic product; why is our government pushing a bill on something so important so quickly?  We don't need policitians making decisions on health care, we need the medical professionals and experienced patients leading the charge, as they are the ones that truly know the system and what changes will really make a positive difference in improving quality and decreasing costs for all.

It's time to fight the madness and let our representatives know that we do not support the bill in its current form.  We need to let them know that we demand an improvement in quality of care; we need to address the shortage of physicians; we need to make sure people receive care even if they can't pay for it (without going to a universal health care model).  People need easier access to their patient records, and a way to find help when the system has failed them and they are stuck with a misdiagnosis or no diagnosis at all.

I speak from personal experience, as someone who has suffered for over 20 years from health issues.  These issues have come from misdiagnosis, mistreatment and misinformation.  I have worked in the health care realm seeing all sides very clearly.  I have read the 1,018 page bill proposed in Congress, and I guarantee you that once it is signed there is no going back.  The people need to demand that our government take their time in developing a bill that meets the needs of its citizens, and one that is clearly translated to the public so a decision can be made.  Simply posting a 1,018 page document filled with legal jargon and hundreds of definitions is not something most people can digest unless they are a lawyer.  The government has no right to say "Just trust us."  This issue is too important to leave in the hands of 535 Congressmen/women and a President, most of whom probably have no clue what goes on in the real world when it comes to health care.

I encourage you to sign the petition and show support for the cause.  Do not trust news organizations and political parties to do the talking for us.  Let your voice be heard today!

Thank you for your support.  Please visit me at my website to learn more about my story, and I welcome all who wish to share their stories with me.
We the undersigned have signed this petition to show our support against the health care bill currently proposed in Congress.  While we agree that people need to get appropriate, quality, cost-effective and timely care, we do not believe that this bill addresses those needs.

Change needs to occur, but it needs to be led by medical professionals and experienced patients, not politicians.

We request that our government representatives take their time in not only developing a new or revised health care model, but to also take the time to clearly translate the bill proposed so all can read it for themselves and make the decision.  We also request that any proposed changes go to the people for a vote, as good health and health care is key to our existence as a nation.

We thank you in advance for considering our request.
