Sign the petition NOW to oppose a Walgreens on Clark Street in Andersonville

Thybony's decision to sell its Clark Street store to Walgreens is wrong for Andersonville and bad for Thybony's corporate image. Andersonville is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a model for urban renewal, a success story for the independent business community. Walgreens clearly has no place in this environment.

Residents and businesses alike oppose the introduction of big box retailers, yet Thybony's high stakes deal with Walgreens moved forward nonetheless and against the best interests of a community that allowed Thybony itself to thrive as an independent business for so many years.

Now it's time for us to send Thybony a clear message: We will no longer remain loyal customers to a business that has turned its back on the very principles that make Andersonville a successful, prosperous and unique place to live and work. We will also be sending a strong message to our Alderman that we want a voice at the negotiation table in the future development of our community.
