Unchain Siloam's Dogs!

  • von: Melanie Brakeville

Siloam Springs is a beautiful, growing town full of wonderful people. Unfortunately, it's also filled with chained-up, sad, lonely, and sometimes dangerous dogs. It's time change that!  We would like to ask our City Leaders to move in a new direction with regards to Animal Welfare & child safety within Siloam Springs. Our streets and pathways are being constantly improved. Unfortunately, a short drive around Siloam Springs will show anyone that the lives of our animals are not getting any better. Food, water, socialization, and shelter are lacking for many of the dogs one can see chained to trees and posts all through our city. Please work to improve the lives of those who depend 100% on us - our animals - AND our children. Many children are injured and even killed by chained dogs every year. See http://www.mothersagainstdogchaining.org/ for more info on this sad topic. It's time to join the many other cities in Arkansas and throughout the United States to end chaining/tethering as an allowable full-time containment method for dogs. Dogs are social animals, and they need and deserve interaction, exercise, socialization, clean water, shade, and protection from the elements. It's time to TAKE A STAND and move Siloam Springs towards a more humane future. For more detailed information, see http://www.unchainyourdog.org/ and http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/
Please create change for those who cannot speak for themselves. For current Siloam Springs ordinances, go to: http://www.municode.com/Resources/gateway.asp?pid=13351&sid=4

We the undersigned would like to ask you, our City Leaders, to move in a new direction with regards to Animal Welfare within Siloam Springs. We have a lovely town - full of wonderful people, beauty, and growth. Our streets and pathways are being constantly improved. Unfortunately, a short drive around Siloam Springs will show anyone that the lives of our innocent animals are not getting any better. Food, water, and shelter are not provided on a regular basis to many of the dogs one can see chained to trees and posts all through our city. Please work to improve the lives of those who depend 100% on us - our animals. It's time to join the many other cities in Arkansas and throughout the United States to end chaining/tethering as an allowable full-time containment method for dogs. Dogs are social animals, and they need and deserve interaction, exercise, socialization, clean water, shade, and protection from the elements. It's time to TAKE A STAND and lead Siloam Springs into a more humane future. For more detailed information, see http://www.unchainyourdog.org/ and http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/. We thank you SO MUCH for your time and attention regarding this matter.
