Demand the Federal Court of Australia allows tattooed mother to breastfeed her child

  • von: Michael Taylor
  • empfänger: James Allsop Chief Justice of the federal court

Nanny state - every Australian will have a story to tell on that one little phrase phrase. But now, just when you thought that the Australian justice system couldn’t do more to invade our every private moment, when they could not do any more to make us fear the huge ever seeing eye of nanny justice, they have found a way.

Breastfeeding is no longer off limits; yes a mother feeding her child is now the intellectual property of our federal courts. No longer can a mother make the decisions that affect her family., that is now up to The Federal Circuit Court.

I have no idea where we would be without them; Australian families have been lurching from disaster to disaster since Captain Cook landed on our shores - It is any wonder that the family structure still exists.

But like a caped hero flying in where only feeding babies were once allowed to suckle, our federal court judges have saved us from extinction: the reason, this mother has a tattoo. Tattooed mothers are now no longer allowed to breastfeed.

Sounding more like discrimination, the judge based his decision on the risk of the child catching HIV. All good and well, except one important fact – the mother tested negative.

Now assuming that everyone who gets a tattoo has HIV is another story, sticking your nose between a child and his mother’s teat is crossing the line. This is the nanny state, we get that, but since when did the nanny overrule the mother.

Australia, as much as we love nanny Australia, we simply love our mums more, even the tattooed ones. Let us send a message to the Federal Court of Australia that this time she has stepped a little to far into our family circle.

Sign this petition with me, and stand up for our tattooed mothers.
