STOP the abuse in Nursing Homes

*As a people, as a state, New York State can be the first to set the example and do the right thing for ALL Nursing Home Victims.  These precious lives deserve better protection from physical and verbal abuse! What will it take to require cameras and/or hidden cameras in every Nursing Home?  According to the American Association for Justice, there are 1.4 million people living in Nursing Homes in the U.S.  And there were 20,673 complaints of abuse, gross neglect and exploitation on behalf of Nursing Homes and "board & case" Residents in 2003. One in fourteen  incidents of elder abuse are reported to authorities.

*Given that Nursing Home Residents are often elderly and infirm, they are considered particularly vulnerable to abuse.  Every Resident has the right to be free from mental and physical abuse!  What will it take to get this done for these helpless people that cannot do it for themselves?
