Protect Feral Cats In Howard County, MD

THIS IS A LOCAL PETITION for residnts of Howard County, Md. only. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN HOWARD COUNTY, please show your support on Facebook, not here. Our County Council wants to see only local signatures. Thank you! 

In Howard County last year, 200 outside, feral cats were trapped and killed. These cats were not sick or injured. They posed no threat to humans or other animals. They were simply outside in violation of the county’s Animal Control Ordinance. For unowned feral cats, violating that ordinance usually carries a death sentence.

Howard County’s Animal Control policies and procedures need immediate reform. At the very least, they must exempt feral, outdoor cats from the County leash law and abolish trap/kill as a response to “nuisance” complaints. 

By amending the Animal Control Ordinance, the county will bring an end to the outdated and cruel policies that result in the needless deaths of hundreds of cats each year.
