Demand a change for Wellfare Checks, do not just send an Officer.

My sister entered the hospital on a Sunday night, we found out Monday and she passed away Tuesday.

She was too far gone for any treatment and was just stabilized until my parents could get there to be with her.

The situation is on-going, so I am not going to be putting any details, but the situation is the system failed us.

We had tried multiple times to get a 5150, marchman act, called various places and was told she was a married adult & we could not do anything.

A couple weeks prior to my sisters death, we called for a wellness check. An officer, from what we understand asked if everything was ok, did no evaluation, or medical check, and left the scene.

She was NOT ok, and died shortly after.

Now, I have had a caseworker ask ME what I did to help.... My question is, what did the system to to help my sister?

My call for action is that wellness checks need to be completed by not only police, but EMS to medically assist, and also a psychological evaluation because JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SAYS THEY ARE OK DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE.


I plan to take the signatures, and draft a Bill making this a Law.
