A bombshell report from the New York Times reveals that Attorney General Pam Bondi is nothing but a figurehead, while Trump's racism czar Stephen Miller — who is NOT a lawyer in any capacity, is making all the decisions behind the scenes.
The Times reports that Bondi "sees her role as that of a surrogate, a faithful executor and high-volume messenger, compelled to cede ground to empowered players in the West Wing." Basically, she's happy just to be an actress playing Attorney General on television. "The decisions are being made at the White House, and then they're being pushed down to the Department of Justice, which is very, very atypical," says DOJ alum Elizabeth Oyer. This is beyond unacceptable.

The independence of our Department of Justice is of paramount importance to the health of our democracy. The enforcement of the law should not be dictated by the ideological agenda of a skull-faced white supremacist, and nor should the Attorney General be a rubber-stamp for the demands of the White House.
Pam Bondi was wildly unqualified to do the job of Attorney General in the first place; now it's clear she's not even trying. She must resign immediately.
