DEMAND THAT NEWPORT UTILITES BECOME RESPONSIBLE FOR HIGH ELECTRIC BILL

The electric bills of the community have increased causing many businesses and people of the community not to be able to pay. The increase is anywhere from $100.00 to over $200.00 in one month. They are saying no rate increase but most bills have doubled from month to the next. We have done what was requested before the cold weather. NUB is taking no responsibility. As a non-profit we have been asked by several people to help with electric bills. They are refusing to come and look at meters and have us told several things to check but we have done prior.
