Tell Britain's Biggest Banks to Stop Supporting Fossil Fuels!

  • von: Chris Wolverton

Britain's five biggest banks -- HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, RBS, and Santander -- have a combined 66 billion pounds (over 105 billion dollars) invested in fossil fuels.

The UK's new Move Your Money campaign is calling on customers to switch to more ethical banks unless the banks in question fully disclose their investments in the fossil fuel industry and commit to a 5 to 10 year plan to end their support for fossil fuels.

Supporting fossil fuels, though unethical, may make financial sense in the short term, but the long-term effects will have devastating impacts on the environment and public health. Without healthy citizens and a healthy ecosystem, the economy will undoubtedly suffer. Please sign the petition to urge Britain's biggest banks to stop supporting fossil fuels!

Supporting fossil fuels, though unethical, may make financial sense in the short term, but the long-term effects will have devastating impacts on the environment and public health. Without healthy citizens and a healthy ecosystem, the economy will undoubtedly suffer. We respectfully urge you to phase out your practice of investing in fossil fuels. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
