Stop the Slaughter of Swans!

Phil & Barbara McKernon are trying to stop the killing of black swans, whose hunting and killing are a local tourist attraction.  Phil describes: "[G]roups of men in boats (shotguns in hand) go out into the bay at the Northern end of Tauranga Harbour [in New Zealand], where others on jet skis herd the swans toward the waiting guns, that blast the [Black] swans from the sky."  In researching this topic, unfortunately, this is not a localized issue.  Our goal is to provide legal protection for these magnificent birds.  We need your help is appreciated.  Please forward this petition on to as many people as possible.  The more we can show that people care, the more likely we will be able to stop this, and other, slaughters.  For more information, please visit the Avianweb.
