My name is Joshua Sinath-Reynald, and I'm 11 years old. I've loved Formula 1 for as long as I can remember—but what happened in Abu Dhabi 2021 broke my trust in the sport.
Lewis Hamilton was leading that race. He drove perfectly. But during the final laps, the FIA changed the rules about the safety car and lapped cars. Only some cars were allowed to un-lap themselves, and the safety car came in too early. That decision gave one driver an unfair advantage and cost Lewis the championship.
That wasn't fair. That wasn't racing.
I believe Lewis Hamilton is the rightful 2021 World Champion. He earned it on track, and it was taken from him by a decision that broke the rules.
I'm asking the FIA to:
- Admit that the rules were not followed properly in Abu Dhabi
- Apologize to Lewis Hamilton and the fans
- Recognize Lewis Hamilton as the rightful 2021 World Champion
- Promise to never let this happen again
F1 should be about racing, not rushed decisions. About fairness, not confusion. Recently, I wrote multiple letters to the FIA and sent this message all over the internet and I still haven't heard from them. So help me build the pressure by signing this petition and get justice for Lewis! I may be young, but I know the difference between unequalness and fairness—and this wasn't it. It's not too late to make this right!
So please sign and help me bring justice to the sport we all love.
