Border Patrol Agents Caught Sabotaging Water and Other Lifesaving Supplies

According to two humanitarian groups, U.S. border patrol agents in Arizona are vandalizing water and other supplies left for migrants to deter and to punish people crossing the border illegally. As a result, people are left dying of thirst in the hot desert.

Unfortunately, this isn't a case of a few bad apples, but is a common enforcement practice among border patrol agents. Please join in demanding that Customs and Border Protection crack down on this behavior and ensure that this is no longer regular practice.

While the humanitarian groups found other culprits - like hunters, militia members, and even wildlife - also guilty of destroying supplies, border patrol agents had the most consistent access. They have been accused of vandalizing not just water, but also food and blankets. They've also been accused of harassing humanitarian volunteers.

According to a border patrol spokesman in Tucson, this behavior is not condoned by Customs and Border Protection as it is their job to save lives not take them. They should prove it by identifying and disciplining any border patrol agents involved in this behavior.

Please sign this petition, and let's make sure Customs and Border Protection cracks down on this cruel behavior now.
