We understand you are currently fast tracking a proposal to redraw the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) school - Lynbrook High . We, the undersigned, strongly oppose this redistricting proposal for the following reasons:
It is NOT a long term solution. It only solves overcrowding temporarily.
There are more favorable options, such as open lottery enrollment to fill capacity gap and can be fair to the whole FUHSD community
It is an inequitable solution, which creates bigger economic divides and fewer educational opportunities for FUHSD students.
FUHSD BOUNDARY CHANGE PROPOSAL IS MISINFORMED, UNPLANNED and RUSHED
○ Based on incorrect enrollment predictions
○ Lacks transparency in communication and motive
○ Does not solve real problem of growth due to high density construction
○ No long term analysis done on infrastructure investments needed to support the extra capacity
WE SUPPORT OPEN ENROLLMENT TO FILL ENROLLMENT GAP
○ Inclusive, flexible and fair for broader community
○ Tried and tested by our district and other bay area districts
