August 17 2015 marked two years since Dublin teenager Ibrahim Halawa was arrested in Egypt on terror charges, Ibrahim Halawa was a child of 17 year at the time of his arrest on holidays with his family. He is now 19. He has spent two years in prison for a crime he did not commit. If convicted he could face the death penalty.

Amnesty International researchers who were present there at the time stated that there is no way the protestors could have fired at the security forces (as claimed by the Egyptian authorities) as they were all locked inside the inner part of the mosque.Recently his trial, alongside 490 other accused, was postponed again, for the eight time. Ibrahims family have said that he is contemplating suicide, such is his desperation at this point. This is due to the appalling conditions in the jail which include electrocution and torture .

Please call on the Egyptian government to release IIbrahi. Ibrahim needs to go home now, at the very least he should be released on bail.
The Irish government should be putting more diplomatic pressure on Egypt, as their current diplomatic strategy is not working. Please also call on the Irish government to change their tactics to put more direct pressure on Egypt.

Please call on the Egyptian government to release Ibrahim immediately, Ibrahim was a child when arrested and he is curre tly jailed in appalling conditions for a crime he did not commit.
