Demand before dark test times at SU!

Recently, there have been a few attacks on students at Stellenbosch University. This has highlighted the need for tests to be written before dark. In one incident a student was kidnapped while walking from a parking lot to a test venue. Another one was attacked while jogging. Yet more were mugged and attacked. Last year a student was raped. In response, the University has stepped up security, provided transport for those without cars, and those who have cars were told to park as close to test venues as possible. Yet students get attacked while walking from the parking lot to the test venues.

South Africa today is not as safe as it used to be. It is imperative that an alternative time slot be found to write tests on, like on weekends or during class times. The safety and lives of our students are at risk.

Demand that times be moved to before dark while it is safe!
