Demand Common Sense Justice Reform

    - Convicts are still classified as "slaves" under the US Constitution.
    - Current criminal laws, particularly in the Federal system, favor incarceration followed by years of probation, workplace discrimination, social stigma, and denial of other rights that make it far more difficult to reintegrate and significantly increase recidivism, broken families, unemployment, homelessness, and other social problems.
    - Many of these laws create life-long felons where there was no criminal intent, no harm, or where fines and monitoring would better serve the public's interest.

This has created a self-perpetuating incarceration nation that costs taxpayers billions each year. For low-risk, first-time, or otherwise "redeemable" offenders, intervention, counseling, parole, or other non-criminal punishment that wouldn't forever tarnish their record would protect families, save tax dollars, reduce re-offenses, and make communities safer.

Demand Congress (1) amend criminal statutes to reduce criminal liability where there is no meaningful risk to the public, and (2) enforce equal rights for ex-felons to allow them to reintegrate into society and not become another statistic repeatedly cycled back into prison.
