Support parents getting what their kids need!

This petition is to help children live the best lives that they can. Children do not have a say in how they come into this world and what they are going to be exposed to within their environment. It is important to have every parent expecting be informed on the services available to them. SNAP for kids is a supplemental food assistance program that gives the parent(s) and or guardians of these young children a monthly in-kind benefit to provide a healthy and sustainable diet. Programs could be implemented though out the community to spread knowledge about these available benefits. Some potential sites to host this program would be hospitals, churches, community buildings, etc. places that are open to the public. As a future social worker in line with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics, (NASW, 2017) code 1.16 discusses referral for services. This code states that as a social worker we have the ability to refer and link clients to outside resources in which they can benefit, that a social worker can not directly provide themselves. Social workers have the responsibility to help clients to the best of their ability within their realm of study. Having knowledge on outside sources is crucial in order to provide their client(s) with the proper resources as needed.
