Forbes Magazine declared 2019 the "Year of the Vegan". Veganism is on the rise and the movement is only getting stronger. Whether it's Beyonce and Jay-Z offering free tickets to their concerts to vegans to petitions asking the pope to go vegan for lent, to politicians like Corey Booker and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez asking people to reduce their meat consumption, everyone is encouraging the switch to a plant-based lifestyle. Not only is veganism a healthy diet for all, it fights climate change and saves animals from suffering. Veganism is a compassion choice for the person, the world and the animals.
Barbie is one of the most iconic children's toy of all time and always reflects current popular culture. There is a presidential candidate Barbie, an astronaut Barbie, even a paleontologist Barbie. There's even an ambassador for world peace Barbie, but there is still not a Vegan Barbie! With a growing population embracing a plant-based lifestyle (veganism in the UK alone has grown 360% in the past 10 years, with over 11% of the population identifying as vegan!), isn't it time that we had a Vegan Barbie?
