Trying to escape the brutality of a terrorist filled environment, a Kurdish family of six headed for Russia where they had family awaiting their arrival. Instead they have been trapped in a Russian Airport for over 50 days!

At first Russia claimed their passports are fake. But now, they state they are "reconsidering" allowing the family to enter the country. Still, at this writing, they languish in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo crowded airport. This refusal by the Russian government was made even though Gulistan, the wife and mother of the family was born in Russia and has family living in Russia. She, like her husband Hasan Abdul Ahmad, is a folk singer.

The children, ranging in age from 3 to 13, along with their parents, sleep on stacks of their belongings and depend on the kindness of strangers for food and water.

Please ask the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, to intervene in this matter and expedite this family's admittance to the new life they hope for.

Dear Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev;

As you may be aware, a Kurdish family who crossed Syria to make their way to Russia has been trapped in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport for months.

Hasan Abdul Ahmad’s wife, Gulistan, was born in Russia and still has family living in your country. This family of six are being forced to sleep on stacks of their belongings and depend on strangers for food and water.

We (the undersigned) implore you to please intervene and expedite their entry into Russia where loving family members await their arrival. Don't allow beaurocratic red tape to victimize this family.

Sincerely.
