Fresh out of High School, on July 19, 2005, 19-year-old Army PFC LaVena Johnson was beaten, raped, and shot in the head in her tent in Iraq - merely weeks after her arrival. Evidence shows acid was poured on her genitals and her tent was then set on fire. Yet, amazingly her death was ruled a suicide by Army investigators!
The Johnson family has spent years working with legal and forensic specialists to prove their charge of murder. However, despite gaining the attention and support of U.S. Congress members nothing has changed.
An injustice of this magnitude cannot be ignored any longer.
Demand the Department of Defense reopen LaVena’s case and bring her rapist and murderer(s) to justice!
