Stop Using Live Pigs for Medical Training at North Dakota University

  • von: Animal Advocates

North Dakota State University, (NDSU), cruelly and unnecessarily uses of live pigs in their Advanced Trauma Life Support, (ATLS training), even though there are alternatives. The American College of Surgeons has approved simulators such as the TraumaMan System.

The use of live animals in medical school curricula is cruel and outdated. NDSU is one of only seven medical schools in the U.S. and Canada that continue to use live animals for training. Given the availability of alternatives, there is no justification for the continued use of live animals.

Please replace this cruel and unnecessary practice immediately.
