We are requesting Preet Bharara - US Attorney for The United States, to immediately investigate the allegations of abuse and neglect of New York State Office of Children and Families Services (NYS OCFS), employees who worked at Tryon Residential Center in Upstate, NY, prior to its abrupt closing in 2010 - 11!
Numerous NYS OCFS employees were injured, disabled, and/or left without disability pensions, or proper restitution, and this must be addressed at once!
We are also requesting that proper policy recommendations be created and adhered to, when and if the United States seeks to address its alarming rate of incarceration!
NYS OCFS employees were harmed prior to, during, and/or after a federal investigation by the Department of Justice, which was questioning allegations of improper treatment of some residents.
While it may be true that the United States should address such concerns, it is our contention that this investigation should have included proper forethought from leadership, to insure for adequate health and safety of its employees. This situation brought about stressful working conditions, and questionable NYS OCFS directives.
Unquestionably, OSHA had to be alerted, due to breeches and interruptions in critical policy and safety issues; AND...Recommendations received from OSHA, and others, were also not followed - leaving many employees without proper support and protection!
Human Rights are Everyone's Rights!
We are seeking Justice for all affected; and hope to insure that this type of situation does not occur in the future!
