Protect the Snapping Turtle

Did you know that the New York State Legislature declared the snapping turtle our official state reptile because elementary school children all over state asked them to in 2006? But did you know that some people in New York State are trying to pass a law to make it legal to trap our snapping turtles so that they can be sent to be sold for food and cruelly killed by people in other countries or states who think it's okay to eat turtles?
