Demand better mental health services

I've been suffering from PTSD for most of my life. The one medication that helped at all was an expensive name brand. A few years ago my insurance decided the generic was just as good but it wasn't. The last few years the only thing keeping me going everyday as my companion dog. He passed away in May. I've been trying other medications but nothing is helping. My therapist thinks a psychological service dog and equine therapy would help me. I found out my insurance will not cover equine therapy. I also found out that since I'm not a veteran I have to pay $20,000+ for a psychological service dog and since I live on a small disability check that is out of the question. I've also been struggling to find group therapy my insurance will cover. In trying to just get another companion dog to at least keep me happy at home I ran into a few road blocks. Some rescues want you to have at least 3 references that aren't related to you. I only have family because of my PTSD. Other rescues and shelters want me to bring my sisters dog to meet the one I want because she lives with me. I have almost no interaction with my sister and her dog everyday but I had to bring her dog. Her dog was so stressed in that environment that she growled and hid from the dogs. None of them would let me even do a 2 week trial. I've reached out to several people including Senator Sherrod Brown and President Biden asking for better mental health resources and I have yet to hear back from anyone. Meanwhile my psychiatrist is shoveling more pills my way even though I told him they aren't helping at all. We need better mental health services or more people will commit suicide. Service dogs for non-veterans, group therapy and equine therapy are just a few things I think will make a huge difference.
