help me get a pet pls

I love animals, I've been wanting a cat since I was little. I'm very gentle and loving and I'm in need of a friend because most of the time I'm home alone. Having a cat could help me become more happy and give me a responsibility. (:
This is very important to me because I tend to be really lonely, and my dog was taken away from me not too long ago and I need company. Having the company of a pet would make me very happy and teach me to be responsible.
