Recommend Mr. Mac for the FWES Principal Position

This petition is designed to give members of the Ft. Washington community an opportunity to recommend Mr. Mac for the position of FWES Principal and to serve as a reference to the UD School Board Members, the hiring committee and Dr. Wheeler.  It is important for them to understand what a vital role he plays in his students' lives and that of the FWES community.

For the last 20 years, Mr. Mac has dedicated himself to FWES. First as a teacher, then as an interim principal, and most recently as the Assistant Principal.  What the hiring process can't get from a resume or an interview is how, as a teacher, Mr. Mac had the ability to reach his students and engage them in learning.  He went above and beyond for every student to help them become independent and successful individuals ready to handle the challenges of middle school. As an interim principal, Mr. Mac's leadership demonstrated his committment to students, teachers, administration and the community.  He had the ability to bring the school together.  Mr. Mac is professional, enthusiastic and inspiring.

Mr. Mac's leadership comes from the heart.  Beyond all of his qualifications and his dynamic personality, Mr. Mac has devoted much of his time to community building events: teacher vs. 5th Grade basketball game, 5th grade play, Halloween parade, Jump Rope for Heart, FWES fundraisers, and much more.  If you believe that Mr. Mac would make an outstanding principal at FWES and ease the transition for all, please sign this petition.  Feel free to pass this on to past, present and future students, parents, friends and neighbors.  The petition will be presented to the School Board in December.  The time is now to voice your support!
