This an important issue that is happening outside of our sight lines. The Amazon rainforest of Brazil is being cut down at an alarming rate. This very much so is a huge contributer to climate change. Without a substantial amount of trees to absorb our greenhouse gases the planets average temperature will continue to rise and devastate the world. Environmentally, socially, politically, and economically.
By signing this petition you're pledging to: make some type of impact on the changing rainforest. If it's donating to reforestation companies. Or not buying certain things like food or soaps or shampoos with palm oil in it. The drilling for palm oil kills millions of trees annually.
The effects of climate change are already being seen right here in the US, California is having its worst drought in 500 years and the rest of the US is getting hit with an abnormal amount of hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Hurricanes and tsunami's are becoming more prevalent in the western part of the world as well killing off thousands. All these bad weather conditions are linked to our changing climate. Also the loss of millions of Species of unique animals, that we will never be able to get back are disappearing in a blink of the eye.

The time to act on the climate is now, before it is irreversible. Another suggestion to reducing the amount of deforestation is using the backs of papers while typing instead of using another piece. Lastly when shopping for paper products try to buy at least half of them from recycled materials. This drastically reduces the amount of tree cuttings and landfill waste.

Reducing the amount of meat that you consumer could be a climate, and deforestation saver. The extensive demands for beef cattle is the major cause of deforestation. Simple alterations in your diets like a meatless Monday could save lots of clean air, water, and trees.
