Let's stop animal sacrifice in festivals now

In Assam, every year while celebrating Puja festival to worship Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali for power and fortune, priests and devotees sacrifice major amount of buffaloes, goats, pigeons, ducks and a few vegetables also by beheading them. After beheading these poor helpless animals devotees drink their blood in the name of worship. This meaningless brutal act is happening every year taking innocent lives of lots of animals. This must be stopped forever. To worship power, to worship Goddess, nobody has to behead any animal. Such acts only proves how cruel and ignorant societies still exists. We all must put an end to this brutality.
