Support Takoma Park, Support AFSCME Local 3399!

We petition the City Council and the Mayor of Takoma Park, MD to ensure that City Management negotiate a fair contract with the City’s employees represented by AFSCME Local 3399.

All Takoma Park City employees deserve a living wage. An annual cost of living increase enables workers to live in the community they serve despite rising costs, and stepped raises compensate workers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Both should be included in the final contract to keep the City competitive with other municipalities in the region and to protect workers’ rights. What sets Takoma Park apart are its progressive values, beautiful city streets, and strong community. City employees are our neighbors, and they are as invested in this community as we are.

We demand that City Management, under the direction of the City Council and Mayor Stewart, treat the City’s employees with dignity and respect, in line with the principles and priorities of the Takoma Park community.
