Recently, the City of Asbury Park's acting manager announced that a fence will be put up on Asbury Park's DOG BEACH, after two residents presented a 100 signature petition from Asbury Towers. Along with the fence labeled as "improvements," more garbage cans and regular police patrolling is now in effect.
Since the time has passed to argue the fence being put up and this decision was reached without representation of those who regularly use and care for the DOG BEACH, this petition is for those in favor of lifting the restricted hours of the DOG BEACH during the summer season ****in the event the fence is not removed****
The residents who claim that they want to "share" this beach with the dogs, were concerned about "children playing in urine drenched sand." These residents should not have an issue with the dogs being allowed in said fenced area ALL DAY, now that they have quarantined them. Logic and reason would argue that beachgoers would not being using this area without a dog as is.
