Save Our Trails: Remove Sections 36 and 16 from the land exchange with the Tribe

Section 16 includes critical portions of the Skyline Trail while Section 36 includes the Araby, Wildhorse, Garstin and Theilman Trails, that provide access to Murray Peak. Section 36 is immediately adjacent to privately owned Sections 31 & 32, on  which the Palm Springs City Council approved the Palm Hills Development, the most massive development ever approved anywhere in the mountains of the Coachella Valley.

The exchange could result in the loss of access by the public, and the loss of scenic, historical, ecological, environmental and preservation of  kinds in their natural condition; that provide food and habitat for wildlife, and the loss of outdoor recreation and human use of the area.

Goal: To keep the natural and scenic hillside lands open to public use and preserved in their natural condition free from development.

We the undersigned are concerned that the exchange could result in the loss of access by the public, and the loss of scenic, historical, ecological, environmental and preservation of  kinds in their natural condition; that provide food and habitat for wildlife, and the loss of outdoor recreation and human use of the area.

Thank you for your consideration of our request to remove Sections 36 and 16 from the proposed land exchange and keep the land open to the public and preserved for future generations in its natural state.
