Bureau of Land Management has killed many horses in their helicopter round ups, even foals trying to keep up with their mothers. They are often run for 40 miles, run into barbed wire fences where deadly injuries occur including broken legs and broken necks. These are the same wild horses protected by federal law passed by Congress in 1971, stating they are not to be interfered with, chased or harassed or captured, and to be left free and undisturbed on their federally protected lands. These horses belong to the public, yet BLM workers have turned citizen observers away so they could get away with their crimes without witnesses. Video and photographic evidence in the past has proven their actions to be breaking federal law. With efforts by wild horse advocates being heard in Congress, the push is on by BLM to rush the capture of remaining horses before steps can be taken to protect them further. Save our wild horses for future generations to see and save exorbitant wasteful spending of our tax dollars. Please sign to STOP BLM ROUND UPS NOW, It will save horses' lives. We have lost over 70% of our wild horses already.
They are deemed cultural resources already under the Cultural Resource Management, and the 1971 law describes them as iconic symbos of the west. AMLs are not appropriately base on science, like DOI Haaland and Biden claim they follow. We need the horses and burros for healthy ecosystems and fire reductions. No proof of overpopulation, ratios show more cows. Finally, Director Tracy Stone-Mannings 10 year plan was found to be unconstitutional by Oregon judge.
